A brilliant book and film. We’ve played homage to it by making a little video for one of our tracks ‘Home Of The Achingly Dull’ using footage from the film.

Here it is: http://youtu.be/Ylm5b1s0f2E

We’ve made a little DIY video for Death On The River, cutting up a couple of Hitchcock classics The Lodger and Sabotage. We apologise to any fans of the great director, we understand this may be blasphemy! Have a watch and check out the original films. Grab the free download whilst you’re at it.

Some of you may have already seen this, but here is our new video for current single ‘A Hundred Thousand Tears’. We like to think of the film as ‘The Loneliness of The Flying Disc (Frisbee) Thrower’.

Star of the video is bass player Brendan Esmonde. Oliver and Jon make suspect acting cameos and an unknown girl provides feet. The concept for the video came from the band and the brought to life (filmed and edited) by Aaron Butchers from Wigmore’s Finest.

Take a look, share with friends and go and throw a Fisbee. The single is out now with two b-sides ‘Down South With The Chameleons’ and ‘A Friend A Stranger and I’.

Next gig: Fri 28th September, Sebright Arms, Bethnal Green. Click for tickets

Music Event One, New single, Competitions and More!
Just a little update to let you know what TR are up to at the moment. We had a great time playing alongside Public Image Ltd, The Wedding Present and our pals Kids Unique (who smashed it) for Music Event One at Rochester Castle last month. Playing the castle has always been a bit of a dream for us, so that’s a big box firmly ticked and playing with bands we’ve got so much respect for made it even better.  Cheers for all that came along, check out the shot by Phil Dillon here http://phildillonphotography.wordpress.com/2012/07/30/music-event-one/
Throughout the day we tried to catch as much of the fringe festival as possible and saw some excellent stuff. Crybaby Special and The Monsters were an excellent start at The Eagle and seem to have improved their vaudeville, Tom Waitsy stomps no-end since the last time I saw them. A few beers in the beer garden and then it was The Wildes who seem to have plenty of songs in their C86 locker, with a bit of New Order and Orange Juice thrown in for good measure, much better live than the few recordings that I’ve heard. A wander down the High St and we get to the jam-packed Nags Head where the sound for Petts was tip top considering the size and stature of the PA (soundmen and bands take note, bigger isn’t always better and the drums and amps don’t usually need micing up). Petts are improving all the time, the intensity of Pats Weller gone-to-the-asylum vocals, the layers of post-punk guitars (by one man/Cherub/Pett) and sometimes kraut-rock, sometimes frantic drumming and pounding bass was easily matched by the a plethora of bona fide TUNES.
Unfortunately we missed the likes of Stuart Turner, Bear v’s Manero, Broken Banjo, Balance Lost and Pantomime Villains but heard good things of them all. In the evening I was intending to see Dead Lovers and Subway Sect, but after a brilliant, blistering set by Dead Lovers at Royal Function Rooms my head started to spin from too many beers and a I retired home.
Top day all round.
Anyway… onto us. We’ve got a new single ‘100 Thousand Tears’ with two new b-side coming out early September with the album ‘at the end of a river, the sea…’ following shortly after. As well as that we’ve written the majority of the 3rd album and are heading into the studio first weekend of September to record a stand alone single.
We’ll be announcing plenty of live show soon but at the moment all we have confirmed is a support slot with those 90’s/Britpop chaps Dodgy at The Royal Function Rooms October 26th.
